Zarate against Southampton
Not sure I've seen a WHU player have such a bad 45 minutes like Zarate did against Southampton.
When you've got both Noble and Collins launching into you on two separate occasions, then you know you're not doing your job.
I thought Ginge was gonna hit him at one point.

If Carroll was on the pitch he would have rowed with him too.

Not a player's player, Zarate.

He had a bad game, it happens, how many points has he earned us this season? He'll improve or he loses his place.

Awful performance - seems to play like a bit of a Billy Big Bollocks, which is great when it comes off but shocking when it doesn't. He must have been told so many times by the management and his team-mates about releasing the ball and not trying to do it all himself. Frustrating player.

Had a bad game, but he tries things at least. Doesn't always work.

Re: Zarate against Southampton
He simply has no desire to pass the ball to other West Ham players.

Lanzini comes on, touch and pass, touch and pass and we're were suddenly back at the races.

His positives are that he likes a shot when some others would pass it but that's all I think he offers..he seems to never want to pass at the times when everyone is screaming for it and his defensive side of his game is shocking and was rightly given a bollocking yesterday..yes he's got us some valuable points but a non starter when everyone is fit for me

His performance against villa was similar. Just cannot be trusted to be the outlet for the midfield, IMHO

They have a saying in some parts of South America: "If you want to make a profit, buy an Argentinian for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth." Applies neatly to Zarate, I think.

Hes a better sub than a starter...especially when chasing the game. He's a goal threat when in the attack and pushing hard.

But as an all round player, he doesn't do the team stuff well enough as is so one track minded.

Worth having on the bench for sure...probably not the right guy to start regularly.

impact sub for me

Re: Zarate against Southampton
Zarate is a good player surrounded in recent weeks by shit strike partners and midfielders who can't pass. He like Carroll is an impact player more suited to half hour cameos. However he is one of our few creative outlets at the minute and is willing to have a shot. His greed has got him a couple of goals already this season but because he is lazy and sulky he comes in for more stick than certain midfielders that simply don't contribute. He's a better player than Moses or Valencia who don't get anywhere near the flack zarate gets either. Will be better with Payet and Lanzini around him who can trust to hold the ball when he passes to them.

Chad,

Are you serious? Southampton were terrifed of Valencia that is why they spent the whole game kicking him off the park. Zarate they simply ignored until his ignominious departure.

You honestly think Valencia is a better footballer than Zarate?
